A Bahia aparece como o \u00fanico estado brasileiro com mais de 1 milh\u00e3o de pessoas analfabetas, segundo dados da PNAD Cont\u00ednua Educa\u00e7\u00e3o 2025, divulgados pelo IBGE. O levantamento mostra que o estado soma cerca de 1,1 milh\u00e3o de pessoas com 15 anos ou mais que n\u00e3o sabem ler nem escrever, o equivalente a 13,7% de todos os analfabetos do pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n
O dado chama aten\u00e7\u00e3o porque a Bahia \u00e9 governada pelo PT h\u00e1 cerca de duas d\u00e9cadas. Mesmo com a queda nacional do analfabetismo, o estado segue concentrando um dos quadros mais graves da educa\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira. No pa\u00eds, o n\u00famero total de analfabetos caiu para 8,4 milh\u00f5es em 2025, com taxa nacional de 4,9%.<\/p>\n
Na Bahia, o problema \u00e9 ainda mais forte entre os idosos. Dos 1,1 milh\u00e3o de analfabetos, cerca de 718 mil t\u00eam 60 anos ou mais, o que representa 62,7% do total no estado. Nessa faixa et\u00e1ria, a taxa de analfabetismo chega a 28,5%, mais que o dobro da m\u00e9dia nacional para o mesmo grupo.<\/p>\n
